Description
The origin of these cookies dates back to the 16th century. Cantuccino word derived from “Canto”
means “Corner,” small crispy portion. THE ACCADEMIA OF CRUSCA
as early as the late 1600s defines it as “Cantuccio” a sliced cookie made of flour, sugar and
egg white. Only in the late 1800s are almonds and whole eggs added.
